Connector Setup
Talk2Tally uses a secure QR-based edge agent to connect your Tally system with approved WhatsApp users. Connector access is provided during guided onboarding after your demo and payment. The launch Owner Plan runs in Live Tally Mode and requires your Tally system and edge agent to be running for WhatsApp answers.

What it does
A tiny bridge between Tally and WhatsApp
Runs on the same PC as Tally
The connector talks to Tally over localhost:9000. Tally must be open with at least one company loaded — that's it.
Connects you to WhatsApp
Receives routed WhatsApp questions from Talk2Tally, queries your local Tally, and sends the answer back through the secure messaging flow. No new client app to install on your phone.

For setup to go smoothly
Have these ready before your guided setup session — our team handles the rest.
- A Windows 10 or Windows 11 (64-bit) PC where Tally already runs.
- TallyPrime (any version) or Tally.ERP 9 Release 6.0 or later.
- Tally is running on that PC, with at least one company open.
- Admin rights on the Tally PC for the one-time install prompt.
- A WhatsApp number for the owner (and optionally one trusted team member).

Install the connector
Our team shares the Windows installer and runs it with you on your Tally PC. Tally's XML gateway is verified during the same session.

We set up your WhatsApp users (owner plus selected team members) with role-based access tailored to who should see what.

First questions, live
We walk you through your first set of real questions on your own Tally data, so you leave the session ready to use it.
Most standard setups complete in a single guided session once Tally access is available.

Built for trust
Your Tally data stays under your control
Talk2Tally is designed so a CA, an auditor, or a paranoid owner can be comfortable installing this on the office PC. Here's exactly what happens with your data.
Read-only by design
The connector uses only the read methods of Tally’s XML gateway. The write methods are not compiled into the product, so it is architecturally incapable of creating, modifying, or deleting any entry in your Tally — even if instructed to.
Scoped and on-demand
Nothing is uploaded ahead of time. The edge agent reads only the specific data each question needs — never your full database, never on a schedule, never in bulk. When no one is asking a question, no Tally business data is read or sent. Limited operational metadata may be exchanged to keep the edge agent available and secure.
Encrypted in transit
Answers travel from your PC to Talk2Tally over TLS, and from Talk2Tally to your WhatsApp via Meta’s official WhatsApp Business Cloud API — also encrypted in transit. Meta routes the messages under its Business Platform terms; Talk2Tally never shares your messages or data with anyone else.
Fully auditable
Every query is recorded with the user, timestamp, and question. Full-response logging and export options are configured during onboarding based on your preferences — so the owner always knows who asked what.
